Fox Promotes Casting Execs in Charge of ‘People v. O.J.’ and ‘Empire’
Sharon Klein, who formerly ran casting at 20th Century Fox Television, will now oversee all casting at Fox Television Group, which includes 20th, Fox Broadcasting and Fox 21 Television Studios.
Klein was the exec in charge of casting for Fox’s “Empire” and FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson:
Three actors for “People v. O.J.” won Emmys on Sunday night, and the show itself took home the trophy for best limited series.
“We wanted to approach the casting of our shows from a single, unified perspective so that all our Fox Television Group divisions are reaping the benefits of our extraordinary casting teams, and there is no better person to lead our efforts than Sharon, whom we have deeply relied upon at the studio for over fifteen years,” Fox chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman said in a statement.
Before joining Fox, she helped shows like “Felicity,” “Dawson’s Creek” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” find their casts at the WB.
