Tesla’s Model 3 to hit West Coast first, cost $1,000 to reserve
Tesla Motors wants its next electric car, the Model 3, to target middle-class drivers.
Tesla announced Monday that reservations for the $35,000 car will cost $1,000, compared to $5,000 for the Model X crossover SUV that started rolling off the production line last year.
Tesla will begin taking Model 3 reservations on March 31, the same day it unveils a prototype at the company’s design studio in Hawthorne (Los Angeles County).
