Perhaps you’ve heard about the comments CBS sideline reporter Jay Feely made Sunday based on a conversation he had with chief operating officer Al Guido before the 49ers’ 24-14 loss to the Bengals?

Tomsula was not queried about his future this morning, but he was asked about the impact the loss of key leaders has had on the locker room.

“We knew there was a core group that’s not here,” Tomsula said.

There was a core group here that built up through some tough times and got into some really good times.

Guido is expected to be named the 49ers’ president after the Super Bowl on Feb. 7, assuming the spot of Paraag Marathe, who will be reassigned.
