Breaking: Dave Righetti out as Giants’ pitching coach
The Giants had been expected to make coaching changes, and they started with the biggest name on the staff, The Chronicle has confirmed.
Dave Righetti, the pitching coach since 2000 who served under three managers, has been relieved of his duties and accepted a front-office role.
FanRag Sports was the first to report the Righetti news.
Bullpen coach Mark Gardner has been reassigned, according to the website, with other moves expected to be made involving bench coach Ron Wotus and hitting coach Hensley Meulens.
The Giants are expected to make an announcement on the coaching staff on Saturday.
