Sean Spicer Gets a Hilarious Hollywood Send-Off on Twitter
Margaret Cho, Patton Oswalt and others celebrate White House Press Secretary's departure
White House press secretary Sean Spicer, whose resignation was announced Friday, isn’t going away empty-handed — he’s receiving a boat-load of sass from the social-media wags of Twitter.
Following the announcement of Spicer’s resignation, comedians Patton Oswalt, Margaret Cho and others hit up Twitter to take their parting shots at the beleaguered White House mouthpiece.
“SEAN SPICER OUT,” Cho wrote in a caption accompanying a GIF of Spicer’s head slapped onto Homer Simpson’s body, retreating backwards into the bushes, an apparent reference to a May incident during which Spicer reportedly spent “several minutes hidden in the bushes” rather than face reporters.
“Spicey was fine lying every day, but a new boss crossed his red line,”actor Zach Braff tweeted.
Oswalt, never one to miss taking a shot at the Trump Administration, channeled Elton John with a “Candle in the Wind” spoof.
Will Sean Spicer Ever Hold Another On-Camera White House Press Briefing?
Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” assembled a mock memorial video for Spicer’s White House run, writing, “R.I.P. Sean Spicer as White House Press Secretary, 2017 – 2017.”
