Popular Aktau attraction plunged into darkness
Tengrinews.kz — The Rocky Trail along Aktau’s coastal cliffs, known for its views of the Caspian Sea, has been plunged into darkness. Residents of the city’s 4th microdistrict complained about the lack of lighting, according to Lada.kz.
Residents reported that the street lighting was not working in the early morning hours, when it is still dark outside. The city akimat confirmed that it had received complaints about the decorative lighting being switched off and said the contractor had been instructed to restore it.
“All the lights have burned out, and it is completely dark. It is very difficult for people to go for walks in the morning in such darkness,” residents said.
The city administration said the contractor is already carrying out repairs.
“The responsible contractor in charge of maintaining these elements has been given the appropriate instructions. The contractor is carrying out work to restore them,” the Aktau akimat said.
No timeframe for the full restoration of the lighting has yet been announced.
