Kazakhstan in talks to bring citizens home from combat zone
Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to process appeals from Kazakh citizens currently in a combat zone. Negotiations are underway to bring them back home, citing the ministry’s press service.
According to the Foreign Ministry, necessary measures are already being taken regarding citizens who posted video appeals on social media.
“The hotline continues to receive appeals. Information on each case is being verified. Once the verification is complete, the compiled list will be sent to the Russian side,” the ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry added that it remains in constant contact with the Russian side on the issue at various levels.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry commented on reports circulating on social media about Kazakh citizens who had found themselves in a combat zone in Russia.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is treating this situation with the utmost seriousness. Protecting the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of Kazakh citizens abroad is an absolute priority for the ministry,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhanbolat Usenov said.
