Brawlers, drifters, and streamers: Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed statistics on popular violations
Tengrinews.kz — Kazakhstan saw a 15 percent drop in registered crimes during the first nine months of 2026 compared to the same period last year. This was announced during a meeting of the Ministry of Internal Affairs board, which reviewed the agency's performance, citing Polisia.kz.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the decrease amounted to more than 11,000 crimes. The department noted that particular emphasis is being placed on crime prevention and timely intervention.
321,000 violations and 1,318 illegal dumpsites
Over the nine-month period, police cracked down on more than 321,000 violations, including public littering and failure to comply with municipal improvement regulations.
Following police intervention, 1,318 illegal dumpsites were eliminated.
Specific attention was paid to vandalism and illegal inscriptions. Since the beginning of the year, more than 12,000 pieces of graffiti have been removed, resulting in approximately 5,800 administrative proceedings.
Working alongside volunteers, authorities conducted approximately 13,000 preventive measures.
90,000 offenders and 25,000 arrests: Domestic violence statistics
Measures to protect victims and prevent recidivism in cases of domestic violence have been strengthened.
During the first nine months of the year, more than 90,000 domestic offenders were held administratively liable—an 18.4 percent increase over the previous year. Of these, 25,000 were placed under administrative arrest.
Police issued over 73,000 protection orders. For violations of these orders and failure to comply with court-imposed restrictions, 20,500 people were held accountable.
To ensure their safety, 4,500 women and children were placed in crisis centers.
At the same time, the number of domestic violence reports decreased by 1,200. Criminal offenses in this sector fell by 10.4 percent, while murders dropped by 11 percent.
11.9 million violations and 386 drift cases: Road safety update
Police continue to crack down on night racing, dangerous drifting, and noise-related public disturbances. Since the start of the year, 386 instances of drifting involving traffic and public order violations were recorded. Fifty-nine offenders were arrested, and 142 vehicles were impounded.
A total of 11.9 million traffic violations were intercepted on the roads. These included more than 19,000 instances of driving under the influence and over 247,000 cases of mobile phone use while driving.
A total of 2,400 drivers were stripped of their driving privileges.
Despite the high number of citations, traffic accidents decreased by 5 percent, injuries by 7 percent, and fatalities by 16 percent.

Police are also taking action against profanity and unlawful behavior during live internet broadcasts.
More than 150 users, including bloggers and streamers, were held administratively liable. Of these, 58 were placed under administrative arrest.
Crime disguised as business: Ministry uncovers new schemes
Since the beginning of the year, 44 criminal cases have been registered as part of the fight against organized crime, including three involving transnational operations.
A total of 238 representatives of the criminal underworld are currently being prosecuted.
The Ministry noted that criminal groups are increasingly operating under the guise of legitimate businesses, creating fraudulent schemes and financial pyramids.
Over 31 tons of drugs seized from illegal circulation
Over the nine-month period, nine more drug laboratories were dismantled than in the same period last year. Authorities prevented more than 31 tons of drugs from reaching the market—a 20 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Ministry of Internal Affairs tightens personnel discipline
During the meeting, Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov instructed the National Guard command to strengthen military discipline and ensure service safety. The preservation of the life and health of military personnel was identified as a top priority. The Minister demanded a review of training protocols to meet modern requirements, with a primary focus on quality.
Specific tasks were set regarding the observance of the rule of law within police ranks. Leaders must strengthen control over personnel, professional ethics, and conduct, including behavior on social media.
Additional objectives were set for countering cybercrime and extremism, crime prevention, migration control, investigative work, and the operations of the penal system.
Earlier, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov. The President was briefed on the crime situation in the country and the progress of his instructions to ensure public safety and law and order.
