Kazakhstanis reported communication and internet outages: what the operators replied
Tengrinews.kz — Kazakhstanis are reporting mobile network and internet disruptions across various providers. Read the full report by Tengrinews.kz for comments from the telecommunications companies.
The Core Issue
In recent days, complaints have been flooding the Tengrinews.kz editorial desk and appearing across social media. Users report complete signal loss, sluggish internet speeds, and connectivity issues even in major city centers.
A number of readers complained specifically about Beeline. One report stated:
"Is anyone else having internet issues, especially with Beeline? Home internet is dead, and mobile is barely crawling. Service messages say there's a technical glitch, but call centers aren't answering at all."
Altel users also complained about network problems. One post on Threads noted that the signal was constantly dropping and reappearing throughout the day.

Operator Responses
Tengrinews.kz reached out to all major carriers to determine if there were outages in their services. According to the companies' responses, no massive failure has been recorded. Almost all operators stated that no issues were identified within their networks.
Beeline
Beeline informed Tengrinews.kz that the company had been performing scheduled updates to its internal systems, which caused certain features to be temporarily unavailable.
"Specific operations were temporarily restricted—for example, changing tariff plans, activating or deactivating additional services, and a few other functions. We informed customers about the upcoming work in advance," the company stated.
The company noted that core services, including voice calls and mobile internet, are currently operating normally.
"Temporary restrictions may affect certain services—for example, the mobile financial services system (mobile balance transactions). Meanwhile, our technical specialists continue to monitor system performance around the clock and are resolving any emerging issues as quickly as possible," Beeline explained.
The company acknowledged that the restrictions may have caused inconvenience and announced bonuses for affected subscribers.
Altel/Tele2
The press service of Mobile Telecom-Service LLP, which operates Altel and Tele2, initially declined to comment, citing the need for an official written request.
The editorial office was later informed that no disruptions had been observed on the operator's side.
Kcell
The corporate communications department at Kcell reported that both Kcell and Activ networks are operating as scheduled.
"The company's technical specialists are constantly monitoring their performance," the statement read.
Kazakhtelecom
The press service of Kazakhtelecom JSC responded that everything is functioning normally.
"There are currently no global accidents or problems on the Kazakhtelecom network. Services are being provided in standard operating mode," the message stated.
Previously, we reported that poor mobile signal and internet can be caused by uncertified signal boosters (repeaters). According to the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, such devices interfere with base stations. As a result, connection quality can deteriorate not only for the owners of these devices but also for their neighbors.
