Average salary in Kazakhstan announced
Tengrinews.kz — The Bureau of National Statistics has published data on median and average monthly salaries in Kazakhstan.
The average monthly nominal salary in Kazakhstan, excluding small businesses engaged in entrepreneurial activity, amounted to 486,388 tenge in the second quarter of 2026. The average salary increased by 5.4 percent over the quarter.
Average salary by region in Kazakhstan
The highest average salary was recorded in Mangystau Region at 673,656 tenge, followed by Astana at 647,920 tenge and Atyrau Region at 631,555 tenge.
In Almaty, the average salary was 610,371 tenge, while in Shymkent it stood at 377,710 tenge.
The lowest figures were recorded in Zhetysu Region at 377,798 tenge, as well as Zhambyl Region at 375,456 tenge, Turkestan Region at 370,964 tenge, and North Kazakhstan Region at 363,123 tenge.
Median salary in Kazakhstan
The median salary in Kazakhstan — the midpoint of the salary distribution — amounted to 348,415 tenge in the second quarter of 2026.
For comparison, in the fourth quarter of 2025, the average salary in Kazakhstan was 473,158 tenge, while the median salary stood at 339,912 tenge.
