Heavy rain, sleet and heat: storm warning issued in Astana and 15 regions

Almaty — rain and thunderstorms are expected overnight and in the morning. In the Ile Alatau mountains (mountainous zones of Almaty's Medeu and Bostandyk districts), rain and thunderstorms are forecast during the day. North-easterly winds will reach gusts of 17-22 meters per second at times.
Kyzylorda Region — a dust storm is expected in the south and center of the region during the day. North-easterly and easterly winds will reach 15-20 meters per second in the south and center of the region during the day. An extreme fire hazard persists across the region. In Kyzylorda a dust storm is expected during the day. North-easterly winds will gust up to 15 meters per second during the day. An extreme fire hazard remains in effect.
West Kazakhstan Region — an extreme fire hazard persists, with a high fire hazard remaining in the northwest of the region. In Uralsk, high fire danger remains in effect.
Zhetysu Region — north-easterly winds are expected during the day, with gusts reaching 23-28, and occasionally 30 meters per second or more in the Alakol Lakes area. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the region's mountainous areas. Fog is expected in the center and mountainous areas overnight and in the morning. North-easterly winds will gust to 15-20 meters per second in the east and mountainous areas. A high fire hazard remains in the north of the region, while an extreme fire hazard persists in the south and east. In Taldykorgan, fog is expected at night and in the morning.
Almaty Region — rain, thunderstorms, and occasional heavy rain are expected in the south, east, and mountainous areas of the region during the day. North-easterly winds will gust to 17-22 meters per second in the east and mountainous areas. An extreme fire hazard persists in the center, west, and east of the region. Karaganda Region — precipitation (rain and snow) is expected overnight in the north and east of the region. Fog is forecast for the west and north overnight and in the morning. North-westerly winds shifting to north-easterly will gust to 15-20 meters per second in the west, north, and east overnight. Frosts of 3 degrees are expected overnight in the north and east. A high fire hazard persists in the central areas. In Karaganda fog is expected overnight and in the morning. North-westerly winds shifting to north-easterly will gust to 15-18 meters per second overnight. Overnight frosts of 1-3 degrees are expected.
Ulytau Region — north-easterly winds will gust to 15-20 meters per second in the south and east of the region overnight. Ground frosts of 1 degree are expected overnight in the east of the region. An extreme fire hazard persists. In Zhezkazgan extreme fire risk persists.
Kostanay Region — light rain and thunderstorms are expected in the west of the region during the day. Fog is forecast for the west and north overnight and in the morning. South-westerly winds will gust to 15 meters per second in the east of the region during the day. Overnight frosts of 1 degree are expected in the east.
