Kazhydromet warned residents of Almaty and Atyrau

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has published a warning for residents of Almaty and Atyrau on its official website.
The information concerns the air quality forecast for Thursday.

“On July 16, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty, and at night in Atyrau,” the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions involving air pollution are a combination of short-term meteorological factors, such as calm weather, light wind, fog and inversion, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the near-surface layer of atmospheric air.
According to weather forecasts, partly cloudy weather with no precipitation is expected in Almaty. The wind will be southeasterly, shifting to southwesterly, at 3–8 meters per second. Air temperatures will be +22...+24°C at night, while intense heat of up to +36...+38°C is expected during the day.
In Atyrau, partly cloudy weather is expected, with light rain and thunderstorms during the day. The wind will be northwesterly, shifting to southwesterly, at 2–7 meters per second at night and 9–14 meters per second during the day. Air temperatures will be +23...+25°C at night, while intense heat of up to +33...+35°C is expected during the day.
