Souleiman breaks world indoor 1,000m mark
Djibouti's Ayanleh Souleiman broke the world indoor 1,000m record at a meeting in Stockholm on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old clocked a new mark of 2min 14.20sec to beat the previous best set by Denmark's Wilson Kipketer of 2:14.96 in 2000.
Souleiman's Ethiopian training partner Genzebe Dibaba was due to target the women's world indoor mile mark while Qatari Abdalelah Haroun is set to attempt a new 500m world record later on Wednesday evening.
