Kazakh woman hospitalised in psychiatric facility after TikTok livestream

Tengrinews.kz — A TikTok livestream ended with a 41-year-old resident of the Zhambyl Region being hospitalised at the regional mental health centre.
Laylo Kassymova, a resident of Baizak District in the Zhambyl Region known on TikTok by the username “Altyn qyz,” was admitted to the Zhambyl Regional Mental Health Centre.
Police said the woman had previously been repeatedly held administratively liable for using obscene language during livestreams.

According to law enforcement officials, despite warnings and preventive measures, she continued the same behaviour, including making obscene remarks toward her minor children.
Police officers, together with guardianship authorities and other relevant services, subsequently inspected the conditions in which the children were living and being raised. They are currently under the care of their father.
After being examined by an ambulance crew, Laylo Kassymova was hospitalised at the Zhambyl Regional Mental Health Centre, where she is receiving treatment.
Kazakhstan continues efforts to identify and suppress illegal content on the internet and social media. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 20 streamers across the country have already been held accountable.
Recently, police also turned their attention to two social media users — a female streamer from the Turkistan Region and a resident of the Aktobe Region. In both cases, the reason was the same: obscene language used in published videos.
