Storm warning issued across Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Forecasters have issued heat warnings for Kazakhstan on June 19, despite expectations of rain, thunderstorms, and hail in some regions.

Astana — periodic rain, thunderstorms, and daytime hail are expected. Northeasterly winds will reach gusts of 15 meters per second. Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 35 degrees Celsius.

Almaty — brief showers and thunderstorms are expected during the day. Fire danger remains high. In the Ile Alatau mountains (mountainous zones of Almaty's Medeu and Bostandyk districts), brief rain and thunderstorms are forecast. Southwesterly winds may gust between 15-20 meters per second.

Shymkent — brief rain and thunderstorms are expected. Northeasterly winds will gust up to 15-20 meters per second.

Karaganda Region — rain, thunderstorms, and hail are expected in the western part of the region during the day. Northeasterly and easterly winds in the west will reach gusts of 18 meters per second. Intense heat of 35-38 degrees Celsius is expected in the western and southern parts of the region. Extreme fire danger persists in the west and center, while high fire danger remains in the southeast. In Karaganda daytime temperatures will hit 35 degrees Celsius.

Daytime temperatures will range from 35-38 degrees Celsius. Extreme fire danger persists in the eastern and southern parts of the region. InZhezkazgan rain and thunderstorms are expected during the day, with temperatures reaching 35-36 degrees Celsius.West Kazakhstan Region — rain, thunderstorms, and hail are expected in the western and southern parts of the region.
