China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe coming to The Egg
Jingyang was here with about 20 other members of the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe to promote their performance Sunday at The Egg.
The troupe has performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center and received praise from presidents and heads of state.
The performances feature spectacular sets and elegant, colorful costumes.
The program includes songs, Chinese classic dance, folk dance, ballet, Latin ballroom dance, modern dance, opera, jazz, instrumental music and poetry conveyed through sign language.
Founded in 1987, the troupe turned professional in 2000 and created the large-scale musical and dance show "My Dream."
[...] he says, the Chinese have something to teach us, because the U.S. has nothing comparable to this national performing art troupe.
