'Bootlickers': GOP lawmakers supporting Trump nailed by protest sign at hush money trial
An activist in Manhattan was quickly pushed away from a group of Republican lawmakers after he displayed a sign reading "bootlickers" as they spoke outside Donald Trump's hush money trial.
As the cross-examination of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen was underway on Thursday, a group of Republicans spoke outside the courtroom in support of the former president.
"And so we're here voluntarily supporting our friend President Trump, the leader of our movement, the leader of our party, and soon again the leader of this great country," Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said.

In addition to Gaetz, the group included Reps. Bob Good (R-VA), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) and Ralph Norman (R-SC).
Gaetz spoke as one pro-Trump activist displayed a "Trump Won" sign. But another activist quickly followed with a "Bootlickers" poster.
The man with the "Bootlickers" sign was quickly accosted by security and pushed away from the cameras.
