Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she expressed the importance of skincare for preventing the visible signs of aging.
She said a healthy base for applying makeup starts with using a good moisturizer, serum, and SPF.
FLAWLESS FACE
Day revealed the tool used to apply foundation can make a difference in how the product looks on the skin.
“Liquid foundations like MAC Cosmetics Studio Radiance Serum Powered Foundation are a great choice for mature skin, as they blend seamlessly to create a flawless base,” she said.
“Apply your foundation with your fingers or a sponge to really work it into the skin, and achieve beautiful, even coverage.
“If you prefer using brushes, just be mindful to work in the foundation thoroughly, ensuring any visible brushstrokes are blended.
“Avoid powder foundations, as the product can collect in fine lines – emphasizing any natural wrinkles and making the base appear cakey.”
COLORFUL CHEEKS
Day recommended using warm tones when choosing colors to brighten up the face.
“Try a coral-tinted lip balm to enhance your natural lip,” she said.
“This is a particularly good approach for those who find a heavily pigmented lipstick bleeds into the natural fine lines around lips.
Powder puffs can be great for setting under eyes, but be aware that mature under-eye skin will need to be fully prepped with a hydrating eye cream to ensure powder doesn’t fall into creases.

“Enhance your glowing skin with a soft sweep of blush, to add a healthy, youthful flush, plus a super shimmery, creamy highlighter to add a touch of radiance, and ensure the light is hitting your face at those high, flattering angles.”
AGELESS EYES
Day said it’s vital not to neglect to prepare the skin around the eyes before applying beauty products.
“Powder puffs can be great for setting under eyes, but be aware that mature under-eye skin will need to be fully prepped with a hydrating eye cream to ensure powder doesn’t fall into creases,” she said.
“If in doubt, steer clear of heavy makeup – choose dewy, hydrating products, pops of sheer, bright color, and a slick of mascara to brighten up your complexion and open up your eyes.
“And remember – aging is a privilege.
“Celebrate your natural beauty, you’ve earned it.”
