MSNBC host reacts with shock as she's told Georgia trial might be delayed to March: report
The Georgia Appeals Court on Wednesday agreed to hear Donald Trump's complaint against elected Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis — a decision that could potentially push his trial back to March 2025.
Speaking to MSNBC on Wednesday, Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Greg Bluestein called it "almost impossible" to get to trial in the Fulton County election interference case by the November election.
"That's because what happens next is the case gets docketed in the appeals court and assigned to a randomly picked three-judge panel, and if it gets docketed before July, which it should, that means there's essentially a March deadline for the court to rule," he explained.
Willis charged Trump along with 18 others for crimes involving conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election. Several co-defendants have since made plea deals.

Bluestein said most attorneys now don't expect it to get to trial until 2025.
It prompted stand-in host Alex Witt to be so shocked that she stopped the conversation entirely.
"Hang on. You're saying that this is going to be presented, that each side gets 15 minutes ... and that that will happen by July. It will not be ruled upon until March [2025]?" she asked in disbelief.
Bluestein explained that the timeline and deadlines are what give him that date.
"I don't know when the oral arguments will be scheduled, but there is a — if they docket it by July, that means they'll have a March 2025 deadline to rule," the reporter explained. "If that makes a little bit more sense."
Trump motioned for the Fulton County D.A. office to be removed from the prosecution because Willis once had a relationshio with a lead prosecutor on the case.
The consultant has since resigned, and the judge dismissed the motion for Willis recusal. That is the decision Trump is appealing.
The Fulton County ethics board declined to hear Trump's complaints against Fani Willis.
Trump and the remaining co-defendants have pleaded not guilty in the election racketeering case.
