Massaging a secret spot on your face can tighten your jawline – my osteopathic technique will create a lifting effect
FROM dieting to exercise, there are a variety of ways to try to get rid of a double chin.
An osteopath revealed the trick he swears by for tightening up your jawline.
In his viral video, Dr. Ales Ulishchenko (@dr_ales_osteopath) showed his audience the exact spot on the jawline to massage to create a “lifting effect.”
He explained that there is a “secret spot” that helps to tighten the skin along your jawline.
The doctor recommended pressing the “angle of your lower jaw,” which is located just under the ear.
According to the health expert, this is where the chewing muscle attaches.
As a result, there are trigger points present at this spot on the jawline.
“When this muscle is tense, the face’s outline blurs so we will be massaging these areas,” he explained.
The osteopath warned his followers that the technique might feel “painful” at times.
He recommended massaging the area slowly while taking deep breaths.
By massaging the area where the chewing muscle attaches, he said you can achieve a “lifting effect.”
For the best results, he advised his viewers to massage their jawlines in slow circular movements.
The doctor suggested carrying out the motion for two to three minutes.
Aesthetician Raquel Medina-Cleghorn spoke to The Cut about using facial massages to transform your appearance.
She explained that massaging at a muscular level is more difficult than at the dermis layer.
The expert broke down the effect of massaging your chewing muscles, officially called the masseter muscles.
“Your masseter muscles may be overdeveloped, which could bulk up the appearance of your lower face,” she said.
The result can be a slimmer or more refined appearance.

Releasing tension and relaxing those muscles with massage or exercises can lead to visible results.
“The result can be a slimmer or more refined appearance,” said Medina-Cleghorn.
Instagram users shared their thoughts on the technique in the comments section.
“Great! Thank you! More of this, please,” wrote one impressed viewer.
“Thank you for all these techniques! Simple and efficient,” said another follower.
“Thank you! You are amazing,” commented a third person.
