Ben Aldridge Explains How 'Spoiler Alert' Presents Gay Characters in a Different Way Than He's Ever Seen Before
Ben Aldridge and Jim Parsons are hard at work promoting their new movie Spoiler Alert before it hits theaters this weekend.
The co-stars, who play a married couple in the film, attended a screening and Q&A on Monday night (November 28) in New York City.
The actors were joined by writer Michael Ausiello, who wrote the book “Spoiler Alert” about his real-life experience losing his husband Kit Cowan to cancer.

Ben opened up in a new interview with SF Chronicle about how the movie presents gay characters in a different way than he’s ever seen before.
“This is the first thing I read that I felt that the characters being gay weren’t suffering at the hands of their gayness,” he said. “It wasn’t about their struggle, it wasn’t about them being discriminated against, it wasn’t about shame. The center of this film is a celebration and a journey of love. You can’t love without the risk of pain. When you see this, you’re not thinking you’ve watched a person die. I think you’ve watched a love story. It’s very life-affirming.”
Spoiler Alert will be released in theaters on December 2.
