Tom Holland Makes An Emotional Phone Call In Cherry Movie Clip
The Russo Brothers, co-directors of Cherry, share an exclusive new clip of Holland and co-star Ciara Bravo having a heartfelt conversation.
The Russo Brothers have released a new exclusive clip of their upcoming movie, Cherry. The crime drama film sees Tom Holland ditching his Spidey suit to play a completely different role - an Army medic with PTSD who resorts to robbing banks to pay for his opioid addiction. This is Holland’s fourth time collaborating with the Russo Brothers after appearing in three of their major Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbusters. They clearly have a good working relationship – the directing duo said they couldn’t have made Cherry work if Holland didn’t play the lead role.
Promotion for Cherry is currently in full swing before the film hits theatres in February, with distributor Apple TV+ recently releasing an action-packed trailer for the ambitious drama. Now, the Russo Brothers have shared a short new clip that teases the more romantic side of the film. The teaser shows an emotional phone call between Holland and co-star Ciara Bravo as she asks about what he’s seeing and experiencing as a war medic. Overwhelmed with emotion, Holland asks if they can talk about her for a minute instead. Alongside the clip, the directors tweeted that they couldn’t wait for fans to experience Holland and Bravo’s “truly heart-wrenching performances.” Check out the full clip and the accompanying tweet below:
This emotional new clip asserts why Holland’s performance in Cherry has already earned him a lot of high praise, including the approval of his MCU mentor Robert Downey Jr. That, alongside the reputation of the Russo Brothers as directors, is surely enough to certify Cherry as one of the most anticipated movies of 2021.
