“Anybody can Google me. Nobody will hire me,” said Therese – who had been working at the medical center for 15 years.
She also told the news outlet she “did nothing wrong” prior to getting punched on January 5.
“I was the one who was assaulted,” Therese explained.
Footage of the fight – which took place less than 24 hours before Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol building – went viral after the incident.
Despite the violence that ensued, Duke said “no one wanted violence.”
She explained her trip to Washington, DC, was to “support Donald Trump and prevent communism and socialism,” the Herald reported.
However, Therese’s daughter Helena Duke – who tweeted footage of her mom being punched in the face and shamed her for attending the violent US Capitol riots – told the Herald she thinks its “appalling” that her mom thinks she did “nothing wrong.”
Helena previously her mom as ‘brainwashed’ by Trump supporters[/caption]Helena, 18, previously dubbed her mom as “brainwashed” by Trump supporters and the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement.
The tweet of showing her mom was captioned: “Hi mom remember the time you told me I shouldn’t go to BLM protests bc they could get violent…this you?”
Theresa’s job loss comes just days after the security guard who punched her was fired – despite claiming she acted in self-defense.
Ashanti Smith, a black security guard, was captured on film punching Therese Duke, a white mom, in the face after Duke tried to grab Smith’s phone.

The former security guard, who was seen wearing a mask and a security uniform, said she was out on break from her job when she was confronted by the MAGA crowd.
She said that the crowd was calling her the N-word, accusing her of being a member of Antifa and repeatedly refusing to leave her alone.
