Arsenal’s horrific defensive record under Emery revealed as it emerges they commit more blunders and give away more penalties than any other team
UNAI EMERY’S Arsenal have been exposed as the defensive blunder kings of the Premier League by damning statistics.
Since the Spaniard took over last May, the Gunners are top of the league in errors leading to both shots and goals, as well as penalties conceded.
Their vulnerabilities were ruthlessly exposed by Watford on Sunday as Sokratis blundered trying to play out from the back and David Luiz gave away a spot-kick.
Arsenal were cruising at 2-0 before the calamitous second half saw them leave North London with just a point despite Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s double.
Following the draw, Bernd Leno revealed that Emery had to calm down “angry” and crazy” players.
And it is believed that the under-fire boss sanctioned a squad night out in Mayfair – after which Aubameyang was pictured leaving a nightclub at 3am.
Strangely, Emery revealed he subbed off midfielder Dani Ceballos because it was too HOT – despite the star bossing the passing stats.
And his tactics are being questioned by senior figures at Arsenal, who are concerned about the Spaniard’s insistence on playing out from the back, it has been claimed.
