Kraft Heinz Co. shares surged in the extended session Wednesday after the food company's earnings topped Wall Street estimates. Kraft Heinz shares rallied 5.3% after hours, following a 2.7% decline to close at $54.20 in the regular session. The company reported first-quarter net income of $993 million, or 81 cents a share, compared with $893 million, or 73 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Adjusted earnings were 89 cents a share. Shares of Fitbit Inc. were up 1.6% in after-hours trading Wednesday after the company beat expectations for its adjusted loss per share, but delivered a lower-than-expected forecast for the current quarter. The company's net loss for the first quarter widened to $80.9 million from $60.1 million a year earlier. That amounted to a 34-cent loss in per-share earnings, compared with a 27-cent loss per share in the year-ago period. The United States is gravely concerned about human rights abuses in North Korea and will press for accountability for those responsible, the U.S. State Department said Wednesday ahead of an expected summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. "We remain gravely concerned and deeply troubled by these abuses. In tandem with the maximum pressure campaign, we will continue to press for accountability for those responsible," the department said in a statement.
