It's 2018 and Monica Lewinsky was uninvited to an event that held by a magazine because Bill Clinton decided to attend. According to the Huffington Post, Town & Country magazine invited Lewinsky and then asked her not to attend the brand's annual philanthropy summit on Wednesday when the former president RSVP-ed yes.
Lewinsky is not thrilled. She addressed the situation in a thread of tweets.

please don't invite me to an event (esp one about social change) and --then after i've accepted-- uninvite me because bill clinton then decided to attend/was invited.

In a second tweet, Lewinsky implied that the magazine offered her a consolation of an article in an upcoming issue.
p.s. ...and definitely, please don't try to ameliorate the situation by insulting me with an offer of an article in your mag.

Angel Ureña, President Clinton's press secretary, addressed the situation on Twitter.
President Clinton was invited to address the Town & Country Philanthropy Summit. He gladly accepted. Neither he nor his staff knew anything about the invitation or it being rescinded. https://t.co/iZ0xtG4OvQ

People are defending Lewinsky on the platform.
This is what everyone is fighting against. @townandcountry should be ashamed of themselves. Do they let their heads of the magazine prey on their interns? Would they disinvite them after abusing their power to get what they wanted from them? https://t.co/7y5r878JSM

Oh, the irony of @TandCmag attempting to brand themselves as 'woke philanthropists' whilst uninviting Monica Lewinsky to their 'social change' event because of Bill Clinton

Omg. This is despicable. Name names, @MonicaLewinsky! No one should be treated like this. https://t.co/ODTXEncD6U

President Clinton attended the event to introduce Emma Gonzalez, a student and shooting survivor from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

For those who might've forgotten, Clinton had an affair with Lewinsky while in office. In the aftermath of the events of 20 years ago, Clinton reemerged as a respected politician while Lewinsky, as she put it for Vanity Fair, lived in the "House of Gaslight." However, Lewinsky has seen a shift in the perception of her reputation with the rise of the #MeToo movement.
