[Women's Basketball] ONU Women's Basketball adds Grace Pennington
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene University women's basketball is thrilled about its most recent addition to the 2018 recruiting class. Head coach Lauren Stamatis and the Tigers have signed five-foot-nine, Grace Pennington, from Delaware, Ohio. She attends Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio.
"ONU was the only place that felt like home," said Pennington of her decision. "The professors were very kind and passionate about what they do, and the environment seemed perfect for me."
Pennington averaged 10.0 points per game as a senior for the Braves. She was named First Team All-Ohio Capital Conference, Second Team All-District 11, Honorable Mention All-County and Honorable Mention All-Central District. She also broke the Olentangy record for three-pointers made in a season with 46 and in a single game with six.
In addition to her basketball career with the Braves, Pennington played with the Ohio Surge and Ohio Future AAU teams.
Pennington plans on majoring in psychology at Olivet. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was an Ohio Capital Conference Scholar-Athlete (2018) and Olentangy High School Scholar-Athlete her final three seasons. Grace has volunteered for the Humane Society of Delaware County. She, her sister, Eve, and her parents, Todd and Amanda, attend Rock City Church.
