Major League Soccer hires Korn Ferry to head Commissioner search
February 26 – Major League Soccer has hired executive search experts Korn Ferry to head the league’s hunt for a successor to current commissioner Don Garber.
Garber was appointed in 1999 and has led MLS’s transformation from near extinction into a 30-team league with soccer-specific stadiums, major commercial partners, and a TV deal with Apple TV.
With the men’s World Cup this summer, league executives are hopeful the tournament will act as a super-charger for domestic interest and long-term growth.
