Report Insigne has agreement for return to old club Pescara after 13 years
Lorenzo Insigne is going back to where his career really started in 2011-12, signing for Serie B outfit Pescara as a free agent, despite links with Napoli and Lazio.
The forward was out of contract after his experience in MLS and Canada with Toronto FC from 2022 to July 2025.
He had several alternatives for a return to Italy, including his hometown club Napoli, or a reunion with former Partenopei coach Maurizio Sarri at Lazio.
However, multiple sources now confirm that Insigne has agreed terms for a move to Pescara.
Insigne return to Pescara after more than 13 years away
The 34-year-old only had one season there, in 2011-12, but it was a notable one for an extraordinary squad in Serie B under coach Zdenek Zeman.
His teammates at the time were Ciro Immobile and Marco Verratti, before they began their own remarkable career ascendancy.
Insigne, who has 10 goals in 54 senior Italy appearances, scored 20 goals and provided 13 assists in 38 games for Pescara.
The Dolphins are still in Serie B, but currently sit right at the bottom of the table and at risk of sliding back into the third division.
This is expected to be a six-month contract, with option to extend if they stay in Serie B.
