The “Heal My Anxious Mind” Prayer
Finding peace starts with surrendering our worries to the universe and trusting that God’s guidance will meet us in the middle of our uncertainty. Best-selling author of Finding God Every Day, Rebecca Simon, reminds us to trust God’s timing, embrace patience, and lean on His presence through every season of life.
Save this prayer for the moments when your thoughts feel like they’re running away with you.
Anxiety has a way of making us feel like we’re fighting all alone, but God is so near to the brokenhearted and the overwhelmed. You don’t have to fix your thoughts before you talk to him. You can bring the mess, the noise, and the shaky faith exactly as it is. You are always held. You are always guided. Trust in that.
If your mind won’t stop racing right now, pray this with me:
God, we come to you today with minds that feel a little too loud and hearts that feel a little too heavy. We ask that right here, in the middle of our “what-ifs” and our worries, you would do a healing work.
Renew our minds, Lord. When the world feels chaotic, remind us of your word. When our thoughts feel like a storm, anchor us in your presence. We aren’t just asking for the circumstances to change; we are asking for your peace to guard our hearts while we wait.
Teach us to rest in your power rather than our own pressure. We ask for your goodness to go before us and your peace to settle deep within us. We pray believing that you hear even our unspoken prayers — the ones that are just heavy sighs and tired tears.
Change our perspective, comfort our spirits, and wrap us in a peace that doesn’t have to make sense to be real. We trust you with the things we can’t control, God.
Amen.
