The fact is, everyone can be a little toxic some of the time… for other people, it’s a lot of the time. Usually, a person’s greatest strength is a hint of their greatest weakness, so when you’re in a fragile place, that strong trait can crumble into toxicity.

These are the toxic traits each zodiac sign is prone to:

Aries – Impatience.

Remember, you are a human being, not a human-doing. Slow down a little, still your mind. I know that’s hard because you are bursting with energy- the constant need to do causes you to be too impatient and you risk missing out on good opportunities. You obviously can’t shut off that revved-up engine that drives you, but practice slowing down daily. Maybe you take a leisurely walk or practice meditating for even a few minutes every day. Enjoy the present moment instead of racing to the next stop.

Taurus – Anger.

Your anger usually rests just beneath the surface at a steady simmer… but when things get off track in your life or you feel emotionally destabilized, you’re a loose canon and your anger can come bursting out with roaring intensity leaving destruction in its wake. Focus on managing your mood and staying in a stable place otherwise, you can cause irreparable harm to those around you. 

Gemini – Untrustworthy.

Your flighty and indecisive nature makes it hard for people to truly trust you… it’s hard to know if you’ll show up if you genuinely do want to commit, if your feelings are real … and that’s because you don’t always know yourself. You are flexible, which is. strength, but when left unchecked your flexibility comes across as a lack of stability. You are also notoriously two-faced making it difficult to anyone to really trust you and your intentions. Focus on practicing empathy and putting yourself in other people’s shoes more often so you see how your behavior can sometimes hurt others.

Cancer – Holding grudges.

Haven’t you heard holding a grudge is letting someone live rent-free in your head? Your sensitivity is your strength but can also be a weakness, you may forgive but you never forget and you carry this pain with you through life and it has a detrimental effect on you and your relationships. Practice compassion and forgiveness so you don’t get consumed with the anger inside you.

Leo – Vain.

When you’re in a good place, you have a healthy dose of self-esteem. You want to be seen and admired and know you are worth admiration. But when you lose that sense of worth, you become excessively dependent on others for validation and a sense of self and this is toxic and exhausting for those in your orbit. It causes you to interact with others as objects, they are just a means to feel good about yourself. It’s ok to crave compliments and attention, but it’s important to work on building up your sense of worth from within. This will also help you form deeper, more meaningful connections. Virgo – Judgemental.

You’re too hard on people, but really it’s because you’re too hard on yourself. You don’t usually have bad intentions, but it makes people on the receiving end feel terrible because no one likes to be picked apart. When you’re in a good place, you are usually more tactful with your feedback of others but when you’re not in a good place… you can be cruel and hurtful. It’s all just a reflection of how you feel about yourself. Stop being so hard on yourself and expecting perfection from yourself and others.

Libra – Self-absorbed.

You are fascinating and no one is more charming than you so people can’t help but be magnetized by you, but sometimes you risk being a little too into yourself.  When things don’t go your way it can feel like the world is ending. You also get swept away in your own experience, you sometimes fall in love with the idea of love more than the actual person which can leave a trail of broken hearts in your wake.

Scorpio – Vengeful.

You can be loyal to a fault to those closest to you, but if someone betrays you… they better watch their back! You don’t take being wronged lightly and will go to whatever lengths to exact your revenge. Sometimes your wrath isn’t warranted and stems from your insecurities and feeling jealous of others. Work on getting to a healthy place internally so you don’t feel a need to cut others down.

Sagittarius – Guarded.

While you are fun and the life of the party, you also guard your heart a little too closely. You love the idea of love but it also terrifies you so you keep it at a distance, you keep going and going from one destination to the next afraid of being tied down but also afraid of not being tied down. You are a fearless explorer, so channel some of that into your emotional life and be more fearless about letting your guard down and showing vulnerability.

Capricorn – Exploitive.

You are the most driven of all the signs, when you put your mind to something you go for it with all you have. But your need to succeed can cause you to use other people as objects, as pawns needed to get where you want to go. Don’t let your drive strip you of your humanity.

Aquarius – Callous.

Your aloofness is part of your charm, it makes others curious about you, but if you go too far with it, you just won’t be able to form any genuine connections and this will cause you to feel like even more of an outcast than you already do. Practice empathizing with those around you, let them in, let yourself feel a little bit.

Pisces – Playing the victim.

You are highly sensitive and struggle to manage your emotions. When things go wrong, you can’t help but sometimes sensationalize things and feel like you are the victim… and no one likes a perpetual victim. Try to channel your inner warrior instead so you don’t feel so jaded by the world.
