Why Savitar From ‘The Flash,’ Deshaun Watson and Shadow Moon Are TV’s Social Media MVPs of the Week
TheWrap has partnered with Canvs, a language analytics company that measures emotions around content, for a weekly look at some of the characters and personalities that have TV viewers the most worked up on social media.
A NFL quarterback, a superhero villain and a god’s bodyguard had viewers talking passionately on social media over the past week.
During the broadcast of the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft on ESPN and the NFL Network, which received a whopping 495,683 Emotional Reactions (ERs), the most-mentioned player was quarterback Deshaun Watson, who was scooped up by the Houston Texans.
Viewers had their minds blown during the latest episode of The CW’s “The Flash” (11,301 ERs) when it was revealed (spoiler alert!) that Savitar was actually a future version of the main character Barry Allen (portrayed by Grant Gustin).
The identity of the villain has remained a mystery ever since he emerged in the beginning of this season, and while some fans were shocked when the mask was (literally) removed to reveal a scarred version of their beloved superhero, others just kind of shrugged and went on with their evening.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the most-mentioned character was protagonist Shadow Moon (played by Ricky Whittle), who takes a job as a bodyguard to the god Odin.
