CNN’s Fareed Zakaria Reveals Surprising Person Who Wouldn’t Talk for ‘Legacy of Barack Obama’
With President Barack Obama’s term winding down, CNN’s Fareed Zakaria approached White House staffers several months ago to propose a documentary assessing the president’s legacy, and eventually the president came around.
The Obama administration cooperated and Zakaria sat down with the president in September for a two-hour interview that touched on everything from ISIS to Obamacare.
“I’ve tried to be completely honest about what happened to try to provide a perspective that incorporates the views of both his critics and supporters,” Zakaria said, explaining that the special covers Obama’s failure to make drastic changes regarding gun control and also his success in finding Osama Bin Laden.
The special features interviews with former Senior Advisor David Axelrod, presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, advisor Valerie Jarrett, CNN commentator Van Jones, Secretary of State John Kerry and Gen. David Patraeus, but there was a conspicuous figure in particular who had no interest in talking to Zakaria.
