Northern California wildfire grows; more evacuations ordered

More evacuation orders have been issued as a wildfire grows in Northern California, threatening a lake community of about 1,300 that was evacuated a year ago because of a destructive fire.

Firefighters are battling a blaze that is threatening homes at a Northern California lake community that was evacuated because of a destructive wildfire last year.

Daniel Berlant, a spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, says several streets in Lower Lake are under the evacuation order.

A CalFire report released this week said the fire, which killed four people and destroyed more than 1,300 homes, was caused by faulty wiring on a hot tub.

A fast-moving wildfire in central California has led to an evacuation order in a lakeside community but it's unknown how many residents left.
