‘The Lost Arcade’ pines for classic NYC arcade culture

[...] there was never a place like New York City’s Chinatown Fair, which opened in 1944, featured a dancing chicken that appeared on David Letterman’s show and became the textbook definition of an arcade four decades later.

In “The Lost Arcade,” filmmakers Kurt Vincent and Irene Chin operate the joysticks in this surprisingly moving documentary that mourns the passing of classic arcade culture and the multicultural bonds it fostered.

CF, as regulars called it, was the brainchild of a Pakistani immigrant and brought together players from all walks of life — we meet many of them in the film.
