All-female electronic music festival at SF Armory
If you ask San Francisco DJ Ms. Jackson, electronic music has been traditionally dominated by men for too long.
“We asked, ‘How do we highlight some of these artists that should be getting headlining spots at festivals but aren’t because of their gender?’” Jackson says.
The event will take place across two stages in the 4,000-person music venue at the Armory, only a few weeks after the space’s final touches are complete.
The show is a natural fit for headliner Dani Deahl, who has been outspoken on the topic of the lack of women at festivals, as well as for Club Aerobics, a “supergroup” trio of Los Angeles DJs who run a record label for women and non-gender-conforming people.
