‘Stage Kiss’: When a kiss isn’t just a kiss
Sarah Ruhl’s “Stage Kiss,” in director Susi Damilano’s smartly paced production, piles plenty of hilarity atop some very fetching food for thought.
Carrie Paff heads a very strong ensemble as an actor cast in a deservedly forgotten old play about former lovers who are thrown together in tempting circumstances, only to find that she’s playing opposite an actor with whom she once had a torrid affair.
Ruhl gives us not one but two clever plays-within-a-play — not to mention the rehearsals — and fools around with what passes for reality as well.
