Raiders show confidence in rookie tackle Kolton Miller
Derek Carr played only one series in the Raiders’ preseason opener against the Lions, but it was enough for the franchise quarterback to make an important observation about his new left tackle.
On the Raiders’ third play from scrimmage, rookie Kolton Miller was called for a holding penalty that negated a 60-yard touchdown run by Marshawn Lynch. As the Raiders reconvened in the huddle, Carr looked for any reaction from the typically quiet Miller.
“He basically may have whispered to me, ‘I don’t know how they call that,’” Carr said Tuesday.
“On game day, he’s the same as he was on the practice field.
