2 accidents in 5 minutes cause severe traffic alert in East Bay
Two separate collisions within five minutes early Thursday morning on Highway 24 caused traffic delays during the morning commute, authorities said.
A three-vehicle crash shut down a westbound on-ramp on Highway 24 in Orinda, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported about 5:30 a.m. when a red SUV and two sedans crashed and blocked the westbound on-ramp at Camino Pablo, CHP said.
Crews were on scene towing the vehicles and clearing the roadway. No injuries were reported.
Another crash five minutes earlier blocked three westbound lane on Highway 24 at the Acalanes Road off-ramp in Lafayette, according to the CHP.
