Shanahan: 49ers want to help Reuben Foster, but ‘it’s a two-way street’
INDIANAPOLIS -- Head coach Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers have reason to be concerned about linebacker Reuben Foster’s NFL future following his two arrests this offseason.
Foster, the 49ers’ first-round draft pick last year, was arrested Feb. 11 on suspicion of domestic violence, making threats and possession of an assault weapon. The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office has not determined whether Foster will be charged. However, even if he is not charged, Foster could still face discipline from the NFL.
“We’re talking about a case, so I don’t know whether anything’s going to happen or not,” Shanahan said at the NFL Combine on Thursday.
