A’s Sean Manaea throws simulated game
MESA, Ariz. — Sean
Manaea’s back tightness was so minimal, the left-hander threw a two-inning simulated game at Fitch Park on Wednesday morning.
He allowed a double by Mark Canha and walked Josh Phegley. Manaea struck out two while throwing 30-35 pitches, he estimated.
“Everything felt good, felt fine,” Manaea said. “No issues at all. Overall, it went pretty well, and I’m happy with where I’m at.”
Manaea was scratched from his first scheduled spring start Tuesday, so he, in essence, is being pushed back one day.
“We just didn’t want to push anything,” Manaea said.
