RENO, Nev. (AP) — The Latest on the winter storm blowing into the Sierra (all times local, PST):5:40 p.m.
Power has been restored to all but a couple dozen homes in the Reno area after strong gusty winds damaged power lines ahead of a winter storm blowing into Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada.
Nearly 5,000 homes and businesses temporarily lost power and winds gusting up to 40 mph toppled a semi-trailer truck on U.S. Highway 395 north of Reno Wednesday afternoon.
NV Energy reported only 50 customers remained without power Wednesday evening.5:10 p.m.
