Woman held on arson charges after firehouse vehicle blaze
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 44-year-old woman is facing felony arson charges after an official says she was seen igniting two fires in downtown Las Vegas, including one that destroyed a personal vehicle parked at fire department headquarters.
Las Vegas fire spokesman Tim Szymanski (zim-ANN'-skee) says Barbara Lynn Gooden was arrested early Tuesday, shortly after she was seen pouring gasoline on a 1972 Ford Bronco and igniting it.
Gooden had been stopped by security guards minutes earlier, allegedly trying to burn a vehicle at the nearby Zappos corporate headquarters.
Szymanski described Gooden as homeless, with no connection to the vehicle owners.
