NATIONAL SUMMARY

Following mild conditions the last few days, cool air willreach into the Northeast again today. Generally dryconditions are expected, although snow showers are possibledownwind of the Great Lakes. At the same time, a stormsystem will shift from western Tennessee and northernMississippi into the Carolinas. Surrounded by above-freezingtemperatures, this storm will bring rain to the region;however, some of the rain could be heavy enough to causelocalized flooding. Mainly dry conditions will hold acrossthe Plains, but a new storm pushing into the Northwest willbring snow from Nevada into the Dakotas.
