Johnny Knoxville’s ‘Action Point’ Moves to Summer 2018; ‘SpongeBob’ to Open 2020
Paramount has made more changes to its release schedule by bumping up the Johnny Knoxville-led comedy “Action Point” from March 23 next year to May 11. The studio’s third “SpongeBob” installment is pushed back to July 31, 2020 from its Aug. 2, 2019 release date.
Paramount also had an untitled Nickelodeon hybrid movie scheduled for 2020, which has been removed from the calendar.
“Action Point,” previously called “Action Park” is based on a theme park in New Jersey. In its heyday, Action Park was notorious for its poorly designed, unsafe rides; underaged, undertrained, and often under the influence staff. Knoxville, Billy Gerber and Derek Freda are producing.
