Just trying to remember when I first came to watch Rovers, as a 10year old it did not even know how a league worked, I just enjoyed the game. When did we become obsessed with winning? The derby to me was always an occasion & I have no connection to the city at all just to Rovers. Why can’t folk just enjoy the game?

Rumour on the Leigh board is Ben Reynolds to us, but I cant see it personally. I haven't seen much of Reynolds recently but from what little I have seen he's too similar to Blake Austin.

id have a sniff for the Centre Matautia though he's seemingly superleague bound

As much as I think Lunt is a great hooker, I’d bite your hand off to get Josh back. He perhaps isn’t as good an organiser as Lunt, but he’s a far better athlete, stronger, quicker and a better defender. A few years younger also.

Not that it’s ever going to happen, I can see him staying over there permanently.

There is a lot of debate on the merits of the 8s play offs structure. However (correct me if I'm wrong) the following facts highlight maybe how fickle or fine a line there is between success and failure:

- the winner of the million pound game has gone on to make the Super 8s in the following season
- after the first season of 8s, either the Grand Final winner or the League Leaders Shield winner has ended up in the Middle 8s the following season

No, not about referees as usual, but now bleating about the Super 8's being 'unfair' on the likes of them as it's gives clubs like their own no chance of getting into the top four.

Fax win by 18. The lads know what's at stake. Leigh will likely beat Sheffield and Fev will have a chance at Toronto with Toronto already assured a place in middle 8's. Rochdale will be dogged but we should have too much class.

These are at the corner of the car park between the bottom of the ginnel and St Michael's Lane.

The Aussie clubs (mainly NSW and Qld) are famous for having not-for-profit Leagues clubs to prop up the footballing side of things for decades, and generate millions of dollars, but I wonder why that format was never adopted across the board in the British game?

I remember vaguely that Hull FC has a Leagues Club and Salford had The Willows Variety Centre complete with restaurants, bars, cabaret, gambling etc.

Well, next up are The Hornets in our final match before the split. It is yet another must win game and one that really is the game of the season so far. It would be no good beating the top teams if we don't get the two points against Rochdale. There is the dilemma though, we must be fully focused and play as though we are up against the top of the table. Over on the VT some seem to believe you get an extra £50k for every position in the league. That would mean we will get £400,000 £350,000 and £300,000 less than the other big 3 clubs in Saints, Wigan and Warrington. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?
