A man from Cincinnati, Ohio rescued a tiny mouse that was trapped in a water-filled trash can in his garden after it was heard "screaming for help." Footage from July 9 shows that rescue and release of the small rodent, where the filmer, Justin, puts the can onto its side and the screaming mouse scampers away. Bank of America has a policy now of requiring masks to go into banks. The death numbers are stable and going down. Millions haven't died even in countries that did no shut down at all. A motorist was killed after his car fell into an elevator shaft in eastern China. In the video, shot in the city of Huzhou in Zhejiang Province on July 9, a car driving into a parking lift to park suddenly fell into the shaft. According to reports, the parking platform did not rise up causing the car to fall into the over ten-metre-deep elevator shaft. The driver was killed int the fall and the case is being investigated.

A man was caught pouring out a box of rubbish into an apartment building elevator in central China. The CCTV video, filmed in the city of Wuhan in Hubei Province on July 5, shows the doors opening when the elevator stops on a floor. A man then was seen stretching his hand with a box of rubbish into the elevator and pouring out the rubbish inside it. A restaurant in a Tamil Nadu hotel has been cooking up wheat-based masks to go with their usual offerings. The Temple City Hotel in Madurai creates "Mask Parottas" for 25 rupees in addition to their usual dishes. Cases of COVID-19 have risen in the area to around 300 new cases per day and has since been under intense lockdown rules. Local reports suggest that citizens are not wearing protective masks leading to an increase in cases, forcing the hotel to help raise awareness.

I secured a grant to study the recycling habits of two groups of similar age. Those attending a Motown music revue one weekend and those attending an Elton John music revue the next weekend. The four year study is underway.

Police in Islington locked off Hornsey Road after a collision today (July 10). Footage shows a Fiat 500 that has veered towards the pavement close to a set of traffic lights. The vehicle is surrounded by police tape and is being examined by multiple officers. The filmer is heard saying in the video: "Serious road accident in Islington. "[A] woman has been arrested for dangerous driving."

Morning walkers at a park in eastern India's Bhubaneswar found a snake hanging from a garbage bin. Footage from July 10 shows the snake suspended through a hole, stuck halfway with its head inside. Responding to a call, Snake Helpline sent volunteer, Purna Chandra Das, to the park They carefully freed the snake and later released the reptile into the wild. A cat had to be rescued by the fire department in Jakarta, Indonesia after getting trapped underneath a drain cover. Footage from July 5 shows the arduous rescue operation where the authorities had to prise open the drain covering and search for the cat. It was reported the cat's cries were heard by a passerby after it had been missing for over a week. The cat has now been returned safely to its owner.

The United States has approved a request from Taiwan to modernize the self-ruled island's Patriot surface-to-air missile systems to counter what it claims as "regional threats", amid escalating tensions between Beijing and Washington.
