Chinese tech firms encounter roadblocks in the US
Americans can't make up their mind if they wanted China to invest in US or not.
The most recent case was the failure of Alibaba affiliate Ant Financial to acquire MoneyGram. The deal was scrapped by the US government as a potential national security threat. Huawei's planned deal with US carrier AT&T to sell its smartphones in America also collapsed on security concerns. Huawei's expansion in the US has been a bumpy road. Its acquisition of 3Com in 2008 and Motorola's wireless business in 2010 both were rejected by the US government. Tsinghua Unigroup's attempted acquisition of Western Digital and Micron Technology also failed.
