Carrie Underwood Wears a 'Romy & Michele' Costume for 90s Night on 'American Idol'
Carrie Underwood is showing her appreciation for Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion!
The 43-year-old American Idol judge wore a replica of Lisa Kudrow‘s Michele costume while sitting on the panel for 90s night on American Idol on Monday (April 6) in Los Angeles.
Carrie was dressed in the iconic pink dress and choker necklace, and even had a similar tiny purse. She joked that the only thing inside was Post-It Notes. If you’ve seen the movie, then you’ll know the reference!
Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion was released in 1997 and was not a big hit at all, grossing just $29 million at the time. It has since become a cult classic and now a sequel is in the works, nearly 30 years later.
Lisa just updated fans a few weeks ago on the potential sequel.
“I don’t know for sure, but it’s looking good. I can say it’s looking good right now,” she told Collider. “It feels like [the studio] wants to do it, and then they have to decide if it makes sense for them.”
“I’ve read a script. I laughed out loud like five or six times, which is huge. Or more than that even. That’s a big deal,” she added.
Three people were sent home on American Idol last night.
