FIFA forced to negotiating table on Qatari migrant workers' rights

October 19 - In a significant development, the Swiss National Contact Point (NCP) responsible for encouraging compliance with OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises has accepted a complaint by the Building and Wood Workers' International (BWI) against FIFA and will now mediate discussions aimed at reaching an agreement on how FIFA can prevent human rights violations of migrant workers related to the construction of facilities for the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
